A Pennsylvania mom is surprised at the response to her "tea party" invitations.
TEA parties are being organized all across America. TEA is an acronym for "Taxed Enough Already," and the parties will take place on April 15 as a protest against high taxes. The parties are rooted in a public disdain for President Obama's budget and stimulus packages.
Mariann is a Pennsylvania mother who decided to do her part in the event by hosting a party. She admits she was surprised by the enthusiasm.
"You know, we would like our voices heard. And [I] and [Anastasia] a friend of mine -- between the two of us we have seven children -- we decided to organize a TEA party," she says. "We initially thought, well, it might end up just being our two families and our kids at the park -- [but] the momentum has grown incredibly."
Mariann explains that her event is going to be a peaceful, family-friendly gathering of citizens who are concerned about the direction the country is taking.
